This is one of the most important Shlokas not only in Shrimad Bhagvad Gita but whole Sanatan Scriptures. This shloka gives an answer to one of the most important questions related to worship. We know millions of people worship God every day, but not many see their desires fulfilled. To explain this in very plain language let us take one very simple example.

Suppose a person wants to have a nice car and then he prays God for it. Will he get a car as a reward? Of course not. This never happens that one prays to God for a car and it comes down from the sky for him. The question then is what the significance of prayers and worship is and how God does reward his devotees?

This Shloka gives a very specific answer to that question. Bhagvan Shri Krishna says He rewards his devotees by giving wisdom, understanding and yogic power. Using the power of yoga, a devotee can achieve whatever he wants to achieve.
But the best use of the Yogic power is to use this blessing to achieve Shri Krishna.
