Translation

You are the father of this universe, of all mobile and stationary entities. You are its teacher and the one most worthy of reverence. There is none equal to You. How then could there be another greater than You in the three realms, O Being of unsurpassed glory?

Therefore, bowing down, prostrating myself, I beg Your pardon, O adorable Lord. As a father forebears with his son or a friend with his friend, it is proper, O Lord, that You, who are dear to me, should bear with me who am dear to You.
Alternate Translation
Therefore, bowing down and prostrating before You, O Adorable One, I seek your grace. Like a father to the son, friend to the friend, as lover to his beloved, you should bear with me.

Purport

Seeing the Universal form of Shri Krishna and recognizing His Supreme glory, Arjuna got overwhelmed and filled with devotion. He prostrates into Shri Krishna again and again.

As previous verses describe, Arjuna before today considered Shri Krishna as a human and took him as his friend. He also remembers considering Shri Krishna as a friend he told all those worldly words which a friend says to his friend. Arjuna now since knowing the real glory of Shri Krishna and recognizes Shri Krishna is the Supreme personality of this universe, the God himself, he feels bad for his past conducts. All that was done under the state of ignorance.

Arjuna hence begs pardon and asks Shri Krishna to forgive his past conducts the same way a father forgives his child. A friend ignores faults of a friends and a lover of his loved one
