Purport

Starting from this and for coming many Shlokas Bhagvan Shri Krishna will now explain in detail what is the kshetra, the living body?
In coming Shlokas following details about living body will be discussed

1. What are its characteristics?
The compulsory characteristics of a living body.
Though a living physical body is one abstraction of the same material nature, a living physical body is different from a non-living object. It has certain characteristics that differentiate it from non-living objects.

2. What are its modifications
Kshetra, the living body never remains the same. It passes through constant changes from the very moment it comes into existence.
Coming Shlokas will discuss the major transformations in the living body.

3. From where does it arise? (The evolution of the living body)
This is one of the biggest subjects in life. How a living body evolved from non-living elements.
Though a living body has the same element which is found in non-living objects, still it appears entirely different from a non-living object.

Coming Shlokas will discuss the evolution of a living body from non-living elements.

4.The prabhava or the influence of the living body
One of the biggest characteristics of a living body is that it engages in an action that further produces some results. This further influences the material nature. This is called Prabhava. In English, the same can be termed as an influence or the powers.
