Chapter 13 : Purusha and Prakriti

ऋषिभिर्बहुधा गीतं छन्दोभिर्विविधैः पृथक्‌ ।
ब्रह्मसूत्रपदैश्चैव हेतुमद्भिर्विनिश्चितैः ॥

Transliteration

ṛṣibhir bahudhā gītaṃ chandobhir vividhaiḥ pṛthak |
brahma-sūtrapadaiścaiva hetumadbhir viniścitaiḥ ||

Translation

It has been lauded by the sages in various ways, in various distinctive hymns of the Vedas, and also in the sound logic and conclusive arguments of the Brahma-sutras.

Purport

Bhagvan Shri Krishna now ascertains that this concept about Purusha and Prakriti as described in Shrimad Bhagvad Gita has been revealed already in Vedas and been narrated with many sages. Bhagvan Shri Krishna further says the logic and conclusive arguments regarding the same be presented in Bramha-Sutras.
The statement above confirms one thing for sure and that is, both Vedas and Bramha-Sutras already existing when Shrimad Bhagvad Gita was revealed.
Vedas as we know is the collection of over 10,600 hymns which covers vast range of subjects. But the Bramha-Sutra is a text under the category of "Sutras". Sutras in English translates to "Farmula".

A breif description of Sutras
Sutras are unique ways of presenting complex theories or concepts. It is the collection of interrelated compacts phrases arranged in sequences. From one phase to another it creates a flow of logic and arguments. All sutras together then give a complete theory or concept.
There are many sutras in Sanatan Scriptures, such as Bramah Sutras, Narad Bhakti Sutras, Vashist Dharma sutras etc.
Bramha-Sutra is one of the most important, which discusses the most concept subject of soul and Parmatma(God).
The concepts which are discussed here in this chapter can also be found in Vedic scriptures and Bramha-Sutras. That is what confirmed by Bhagvan Shri Krishna in this Shloka
