वेदाविनाशिनं नित्यं य एनमजमव्ययम् । कथं स पुरुषः पार्थ कं घातयति हन्ति कम् ॥
Transliteration
vedavinasinam nityam ya enam ajam avyayam katham sa purusah partha kam ghatayati hanti kam
Translation
O Partha, how can a person who knows this soul as indestructible, unborn, eternal and immutable, kill anyone or cause anyone to kill?
Purport
Bhagvan Shri describes Arjuna about the secret of Birth and Death. This process which human considers as birth and death is actually a physical change. As Human changes old clothes for the new ones, similarly soul leaves the old body to acquire the new one. When soul leaves the body is what called as death, and when soul acquires the new body is what in reality the birth. (Though in social practice birth is defined as phenomena when child comes out of mother’s womb, but that is immaterial in this discussion.
