The Vedas mainly deal with the subject of the three modes of material nature. Rise above these modes, O Arjuna. Be transcendental to all of them. Be free from all dualities and from all anxieties for gain and safety, and be established in the Self

Purport

In following shloka, Bhagvan Shri Krishna explains the features Vedas. Bhagvan Shri Krishna tells that Vedas gives the scientific explanation of the material world, its Gunas and its functionalities. Vedas hence are the ways to know the material world and understand living beings. But Vedas are not the goal of living beings, as science is not the goal.
The goal of human being is to realise his soul by uniting it with the Supreme soul Bhagvan Shri Krishna and every human being should try to achieve that.
