One who is able to withdraw his senses from sense objects, as the tortoise draws its limbs within the shell, is to be understood as truly situated in knowledge.

Characteristics of enlightened person
Bhagvan Shri Krishna continues to explain the characteristic of an enlighten person. The next characteristic Bhagvan explain that a truly enlightened person has the full control over his senses. He is able to withdraw his senses from worldly pleasure at his will the same way as a tortoise withdraws his limbs within his shell.
