In the above Shloka, Bhagvan Shri Krishna points out the negative effects of Kama(lust) on the knowledge. Giving three different examples of how smoke covers fire and makes it in-effective, dust covers mirror and makes it ineffective similarly under the effect of kama(lust) the knowledge of human become ineffective. Under such conditions, he loses the capacity to differentiate between good and bad, true and false. Such a situation leads humans to fall into the wrong path and commit sinful acts.
