When, however, one is enlightened with the knowledge by which nescience is destroyed, then his knowledge reveals everything, as the sun lights up everything in the daytime.

Purport

In earlier shlokas, Bhagwan Shri Krishna explained the intricacies of Karma Yoga and how to follow it. In the step to achieve freedom from the attachment of the material world is to detach the mind from the material desire. But again how would mind ever detach itself from desires? There are many ways to purify the mind. Devotion is one of the ways which has been explained in one of the Shlokas. Another way is through Knowledge.

In This Shloka Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains the glory of Knowledge. Knowledge is like sunlight. As sunlight removes the darkness, the knowledge removes all the ignorance. This has to be noted that attachment to the material world arises from the very wrong notion that we are the physical body and whatever happening in this material world is the absolute reality. When a human acquires the knowledge, his ignorance removed and his all acts are purified.
