As a lamp in a windless place does not waver, so the transcendentalist, whose mind is controlled, remains always steady in his meditation on the transcendent Self.
Purport
In earlier Shloka, Bhagvan Shri Krishna defined when one should know the perfect state of dhyana Yoga has reached.
Starting from this Shlokas to the next few, the blissful state of meditation is defined. Above Shloka the human body is compared with the lamp and the human mind with the flame of the lamp. Bhagvan Shri Krishna explains the delicacy and the purity of the state of meditation. As we know how delicate is the flame, that even a small wind moves it. Similar is the state of mind, which gets deflected with even a small thought. Controlling a mind is as difficult as making a flame static. But meditation is the process by which a human can achieve that supreme state, where the mind of humans settles down to complete peace and Yogi attains unmatched peace. That is the glory of Meditation. A state of complete peace indeed.
