Purport
As described in earlier Shlokas, though yoga provides freedom from all sorrows in the material world, achieving that supreme state of perfection(Samadhi) may not be easy. Earlier Shloka described one needs strong determination and constant focus. This Shloka is in continuation from the earlier Shloka and describes other factors required for success in Yoga. Bhagvan Shri Krishna explains, that achieving success in Yoga is also a gradual process. Bhagvan Shri Krishan put emphasis, again and again, one should keep his focus intact during each step.
If we expand the meaning, this Shloka also gives the foundation of Ashtanga yoga, as we all know Ashtang yoga is formed of 8 limbs, i.e Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratihara, Dharana, Dhyan, and Samadhi. Those 8 limbs of Ashtanga Yoga is nothing but the various steps which what this shloka is talking about.
