What described in the next 3 Shlokas is one of the most secret doctrines of Shrimad Bhagvad Gita. In the words of Shri Ramanujacharya, the next three verses explain the doctrine of 5 different types of fires. Though this shloka uses term “Yatra Kale” which normally gives meaning of time of travel, but all three main commentators of Shrimad Bhagvad Gita, Shri Adi Shankara, Shri MadhavaCharya and Shri Ramanujacharya agree on the point that this word “Yatra Kale” actually define the paths which human follow and which decide whether they are going to return back to this mortal world again or achieve liberation.
Next three Shlokas mentions that 5 divisions of paths. Starting with day and ending with year, different divisions of lights have been mentioned. Three commentators also agree that 5 different lights or to say 5 different paths are presided by one deity each. In other sense, the shlokas hence describe that following some deity brings humans back to this world and following some other deity gives freedom from this world.
