With your mind focused on Me, having Me for your support and practising Yoga — listen, O Arjuna, to how you can, without doubt, know Me fully. I will declare to you in full, this knowledge along with the differentiating insight (Vijñana), knowing which nothing else remains to be known.

Among thousands of men, perhaps one strives for [spiritual] perfection (siddhi); even among those who strive for [spiritual] perfection, one only knows Me in reality.

Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intellect and the principle of ego; thus My material nature [Prakṛti] is divided eightfold. Besides this inferior nature, O mighty-armed Arjuna, there is a superior energy of Mine. It is the life-principle [Jīva-bhuta], by which this universe is sustained. Therefore, Know that all beings originate from these two.

"I am the creator, the sustainer and the destroyer of all the worlds", "[In this universe]There is nothing superior to Me, everything existing [in this universe] is connected to Me like Pearls on a thread", "I am the sapidity in water, the radiant lustre of the Sun and the moon, the primordial root syllable Om within all the Vedas,the subsonic element of sound in ether, and ability in man"

"I am the original fragrance in the Earth, the heat in fire and the vitality of all beings;also I am tolerance in those who perform auterities:"

O Partha! Know me as the original seed of all beings. I am the intelligence in the intelligent and the dignity of the dignified.

I am strength in the strong disassociated with craving and attachment. In all beings, I am that desire which is not contrary to Dharma, O Arjuna (Bull among Bharatas),

Know that all those states of Sattva, Rajas and Tamas have their origin in Me alone. But I am not in them; they are in Me.

The entire universe is deluded by these three conditions originating from the Gunas, and fails to recognise Me, who am beyond them and immutable.

For this divine Māya of Mine consisting of the three Gunas is hard to overcome. But those who take refuge in Me alone, shall be able to transcend this Māya.

The malefactors, the foolish, the lowest of people, those persons deprived of wisdom by delusion (Māya) and those who are dominated by demoniac nature they do not seek refuge in Me.

Four types of virtuous people worship Me, O Arjuna (Bull of the Bharatas). These are the distressed, the seekers after knowledge, the ambitious, and the wise render devotional service unto me.

Of these, the wise, being ever steadfast and devoted to Me only, is the foremost; for I am inexpressibly dear to him and he is dear to Me. Noble indeed, are all these, but he who is situated in knowledge of Me I deem him to be My very Self. Being fully integrated, he is devoted exclusively to Me as the highest goal.

At the end of many births, the enlightened one takes refuge in Me, realising that ‘Vasudeva is everything’— It is very hard to find such a great-person.

Controlled by their inherent nature, and attracted by wishes to fulfil various desires, the worldly minded resort to other deities(Than Shri Krishna), and worship using different convenient methods. Whichever manifestation (of the Divine) any devotee desires to worship with faith — that faith I make unshakeable and firm.

Endowed with that faith, one engages in the worship of that [particular] deityand thence obtains the desired objects, which are in fact bestowed by Me alone.

But verily the reward gained by these persons of limited understanding is finite. The worshippers of the deities will go to the deities but My devotees will come to Me.

Not knowing My higher nature, immutable and unsurpassed, the ignorant think of Me as an unmanifest entity who has now become manifest.

Veiled by Māya, I am not clearly evident to all. This deluded world does not recognise Me as the unborn and immutable.

I know all beings, O Arjuna, that have been in the past, those now in the present and those yet to come; but no one knows Me.

O scion of Bharata [Arjuna], O conquerer of the foe, all living beings are subject to delusion arising out of dualities of desire and aversion by birth.

But the doers of virtuous deeds, whose sins have ceased, are freed from the delusion of the pairs of opposites. They worship Me, steadfast in their determination

Those who take refuge in Me and strive for liberation from old age and death, fully understand Brahman [ātman], Self-realisation, and Karma.

Those who know Me as the Supreme Lord, as the governing principle of the material manifestation(Adhibhuta), who know Me as the one underlying all the deties(Adhidaiva) and as the one sustaining all yajnas(Adhiyajna), can, with steadfast mind, understand and know Me even at the time of death.
